Sandra…

At the age of 14, began to notice how her thoughts impacted her performance on the volleyball court. Sandra didn’t recognize this as her introduction to sports psychology, but performing with this basic understanding allowed her to earn district recognition, and eventually a full athletic scholarship to Clemson University. As a freshman facing new challenges several miles away from her hometown of Katy, Tx, Sandra became even more committed to her mental well-being, and worked her way toward a starting position.  Sandra solidified herself as a core player, and soon after was honored as the 2009 AVCA East Region Rookie of the Year. Sandra spent the next 3 years breaking records, and continued being recognized at the team, conference, and national levels. She ended her career at Clemson becoming the first, and second player in Clemson history to earn All-ACC & AVCA titles in all 4 seasons, respectively.

It was during her time at Clemson that Sandra became passionate about sports psychology. She credits her commitment and understanding of mental health for these accomplishments. Since then Sandra has had the privilege of playing professionally overseas, and for the USA U23 National Team. In 2015, Sandra graduated with an EdS and MEd in Counselor Education. She became a licensed therapist, and a national certified counselor the following year.

Today Sandra seeks to assist athletes in becoming the best competitors and people they can be, by addressing problems related to performance, adjustment issues, team cohesion, and identity crises.
